WWDC 2024
Apple is leaning into the technological evolution with its latest innovation, Apple Intelligence, introduced at WWDC 2024.
This new system is meant to enhance user experiences across Apple products.
Apple says the company remains committed to power, intuitiveness, integration, and privacy.
The event was long and packed with information, but I summarized my takeaways about Apple Intelligence, here:
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence adapts to your routines, relationships, and communication patterns.
Integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
Features new generative models for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Key Capabilities
Understands and creates language and images.
Simplifies interactions by prioritizing notifications and enhancing writing tools.
Seamlessly integrated across apps like Mail, Notes, Safari, Pages, and Keynote.
Image Generation
Offers creative tools for personalized image generation.
Understands photo libraries to enhance conversations.
Supports various styles including sketch, illustration, and animation.
Integrated into apps like Notes, Freeform, Keynote, and Pages.
ChatGPT in Siri and Writing Tools
ChatGPT will be integrated into Siri and writing tools, eliminating the need to switch between tools. It can handle requests related to photos and documents, and writing tools’ Compose feature allows for the creation and illustration of original content.
You decide when ChatGPT is used and will be prompted before any of your information is shared.
ChatGPT will be free to use without an OpenAI account, and subscribers can link their accounts to access premium features within these experiences.
Siri
Siri becomes more natural, contextually relevant, and personal.
Improved design and system integration for better understanding and interaction.
New features include typing to Siri and answering device-specific questions.
We won’t have access to these features until later this year, in the Fall.
Privacy is a concern, and I am cautious about certain apps that could compromise my personal information in any form.
It will definitely be interesting to see how these features are rolled out and implemented and I am looking forward to testing some of them!
🎬AI Video
2024 is the year of AI video.
I use several generative video tools, including RunwayML Gen-2, Pika, Leonardo AI, Deforum, Krea AI, Morph Studio, LTX Studio, and more.
I am constantly testing new tools with early access, and I will have more to share with you very soon!
KLING
I know we have all been waiting for Sora, and while we have been waiting, a new launch has happened.
A new Chinese AI video generator has launched, preceding the release of Sora.
Meet Kling.
Kling understands physic better and can model complex action accurately.
In addition, Kling can create 2-minute videos in 1080p quality at 30fps and is available on the KWAI iOS app.
However, it does require a Chinese phone number for access. (link)
