ChatGPT Plugins are available to Plus users

OpenAI announced new beta features for ChatGPT Plus users, including Plugins and Web Browsing.

They're continuing to roll these out to all Plus users, and it might take a while longer before you see them in your account. I currently have most plugins but no web browsing in my account.

What are plugins and how can they help you?

I asked ChatGPT to explain how plugins are useful:

Imagine GPT chatbots, like ChatGPT, as a friend in conversation, and plugins are their special knowledge areas. If you're discussing a document, need a phrase translated, or want help rephrasing a sentence, the chatbot uses these plugins. It's like your friend suddenly has a degree in the subject you're asking about.

These are the plugins I installed:

Prompt Perfect: helps to refine and improve your prompts. Just add 'perfect' to the beginning of your prompts, and it generates effective prompts for your conversation.

Ask Your PDF: this lets you ask questions and get answers directly from a PDF document. It's like having a personal assistant who can read and understand your documents.

Show Me: enables you to create diagrams within your chats. It's a great tool for visual learners or when you need to explain complex concepts.

Speak: acts as an AI language tutor. It can help you learn new languages, translate phrases, and understand foreign language concepts.

There’s An AI For That: a database of AI tools. It's like a directory that helps you find the right AI tool for your needs.

ChatWithPDF: allows you to load and query PDF documents. It's like having a conversation with your PDF, asking it questions, and getting answers.

Link Reader: reads links for images, documents, and webpages. It's useful when you want to understand the content of a link without leaving the chat.

Lexi Shopper: provides Amazon store product recommendations. It's like having a personal shopper who knows your preferences and suggests products accordingly.

Wolfram: uses the power of Wolfram Alpha to answer complex computational questions. It's like having a mathematician at your fingertips.

Playlist AI: helps you create Spotify playlists that can be opened immediately in your account. It's like having a personal DJ who knows your music taste.

Photorealistic: generates Midjourney image prompts, including medium, style, lighting, composition, and parameters.

Google’s MusicLM

Google released MusicLM available in the AI Test Kitchen to create your own generative music with AI.

Type a description of the type of music you want to create and MusicLM generates two short music samples for you to compare. You can give a thumbs up or down to the sample you prefer. ( waitlist )

You might wonder if this music is usable, so I created a few tracks and you can listen to them here:

Prompt: Binaural beats for focus and flow state, steady, relaxing

Prompt: Smooth jazz music with a clarinet riff, relaxing

Prompt: Techno house music with deep bass, dance music
